What were you doing before joining ZenGroup?

Before joining ZenGroup and coming to Osaka, I was studying to get my bachelor’s degree in Oita Prefecture.

Why did you decide to apply to ZenGroup?

I was first reached out to by a recruiter for ZenGroup. Upon researching, I felt that ZenGroup was very similar to my university in that it had many international employees, which was really attractive to me at the time.

How would you describe the workplace environment at ZenGroup?

It’s really comfortable. I love that I can have my cute plushies at work with me too. 😂 My colleagues also have their plushies, plants, or figurines on their desks, so it’s super fun to walk around!

Which part of your personality do you think fits well with ZenGroup?

Personally, I think it’s my open-mindedness trait that allows me to get along with others professionally, as well as my willingness to embrace changes in the work.

What is the most enjoyable part of working at ZenGroup?

In ZenGroup, new ideas are valued and listened to. Therefore, instead of doing things the same way forever, we are encouraged to try new things to improve efficiency and quality, while learning new skills and growing professionally.

Would you recommend working at ZenGroup to your friends? Why?

Yes definitely! Because we’ve (sometimes) got free fruits at the office 😂

Can you describe your work, including your team and colleagues?

Currently, I’m working as a Web Designer in the Design Team, Creative Section. Our work involves creating graphic design, web page design and coding for all ZenGroup services, such as ZenMarket, ZenPlus, and ZenPop. My teammates are all wonderfully talented designers, each with their own strengths and backgrounds. It has been great to learn new things from each other.

Do you have any memorable experiences where your colleagues supported or cooperated with you?

For sure! It’s actually hard to pick just one to talk about, but I think I’ve got the one. I mentioned that I’m on the Design Team; however, before that, I was actually working as a Vietnamese Marketer for the ZenMarket Section. When expressing my wish for department transfer in order to pursue a different career path, I was warmly supported by my colleagues and my then manager, who helped me greatly in coordinating with HR and others throughout the whole process. I am very grateful for that.

When you think of ZenGroup, what word comes to mind?

It would be Collaborative and Growth to me.

What do you think is the appeal of ZenGroup?

I would say it’s the international environment we have here in ZenGroup. Other than the fact that it’s fun to have international colleagues, when our different backgrounds and cultures come together, many innovative and creative ideas can be formed.

Are there any unique benefits, growth opportunities, or work-life balance initiatives at ZenGroup that you find attractive?

In ZenGroup, we don’t have days off on Japanese national holidays. However, those days are calculated into the number of annual leaves we get. For a foreigner working in Japan, it is, in my opinion, the best benefit. I can accumulate days off to visit my home country, which is definitely a plus for work-life balance for me.
