A Smooth Start with Our 3-Day Onboarding Program
Starting a new job can feel a bit scary, right? So much to learn, so many new tools and new software!
At ZenGroup, we support all new team members’ ease into our work environment with a helpful onboarding program starting on day one. The main goal of our onboarding isn’t just about gaining more knowledge; we want team members to adapt and feel a part of the ZenGroup team from their first day.
Starting new and fresh makes it easier to understand common values, understand Zen culture, and build unity.
Your First Days at ZenGroup
Whether you will work at our logistics center or our head office, onboarding is held for three days at the start of each month in our head office from 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
To build a team spirit and boost motivation, we provide a warm welcome package that includes ZenGroup-branded items, designed to make a smooth transition into any new position. Enjoy new items such as pens, notebooks, and a tote bag.

Listening to explanations and understanding new systems can also be challenging on your first day. To ensure everyone can adjust to working in Japan, as well as for Japanese nationals joining their first international company, we conduct lectures in Japanese and English.
By the end of onboarding, you’ll gain knowledge across key areas, including:
- A complete overview of ZenGroup and an office tour
- Detailed look inside ZenGroup’s values, culture, and communication style
- A detailed lecture about how ZenGroup measures performance through OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)
- Overview of Japan’s social insurance system and taxes
- A closer look inside internal tools:
- Slack: A cloud-based chat platform used for smooth team communication across many departments.
- Asana: A project management platform that helps manage team tasks and share progress
- Zapier: A Software that allows you to create workflow automation
In addition to the training above, we offer a new professional lecture for those who are new to working in Japan or have limited corporate experience, we also offer a “New Professional Session” focused on business etiquette.
What New Team Members Are Saying

Here are some comments from our newest team members, sharing their thoughts on our onboarding experience.
“Onboarding helped me connect with other new colleagues. Even though we’re in different departments now, we still go for lunch and support each other.”
“The compliance session emphasized the importance of saying ‘no’ when something feels wrong. I found that approach different from the typical compliance training in Japanese companies.”
Supporting You Every Step of the Way
No matter where you work, a new job always comes with questions and concerns—especially mid-career.
The best way to start a new job is with a solid foundation and base understanding through an onboarding program that gives you the knowledge, confidence, and community to succeed.
