What were you doing before joining ZenGroup?

I was leading an online auction house specializing in second hand luxury goods (or pre-loved as the insiders say). The job was quite comprehensive with me doing all marketing efforts, supporting auction preparation, item control and being live on camera calling bids and explaining goods 3 times a week.

Why did you decide to apply to ZenGroup?

I had reached a stand-still in learning potential in my previous company. In order to evolve professionally, I needed a company where I could utilize my skills in marketing and experience design. I saw an opportunity in ZenGroup to learn from others, and gain experience I couldn’t get elsewhere.

How would you describe the workplace environment at ZenGroup?

It’s a very welcoming yet professional environment. You can be yourself and feel comfortable knowing people will respect you as you are. There are people of many cultures and backgrounds, so keep your mind open to new input and you’ll learn things no single uni degree could provide you.

Which part of your personality do you think fits well with ZenGroup?

Haha, I don’t want to sound like a narcissist, but I have many qualities I’m proud of and fit well with ZenGroup. But If I had to pick one, It’d be my ability to look at a challenge in unusual ways. My input regularly inspires new ways of doing things, and with a team that can play off me, we have created a wonderful dynamic.

What is the most enjoyable part of working at ZenGroup?

I’d say; looking forward to going to work every day. I’m passionate about our projects because we’re given agency, and it makes me excited to achieve our goals day by day.

Would you recommend working at ZenGroup to your friends? Why?

Oh, for sure, in fact I already have. ZenGroup is great at supercharging your talents in the area you’re best at, so long as it’s a relevant skill and you’re open about what you want to achieve. It’s also great to work in an environment that really respects its employees.

Can you describe your work, including your team and colleagues?

I’m part of ZenPop, the subscription box service powered by ZenGroup. On the regular, my tasks include running our social media channels, communicating with partners, writing copy and much more, but lately we’ve been going through some changes, and I’ve really gotten to let my market research skills shine with creating and analyzing survey results, compiling data, holding qualitative interviews and making a marketing strategy. It’s super fun!

My colleagues are a varied group of 5 all with unique abilities integral to ZenPop. What I like best about working with them is how they trust each other’s expertise and build off each other. Thanks to the efforts we made in 2023, I’m confident 2024 will be our year!

Do you have any memorable experiences where your colleagues supported or cooperated with you?

Hmm, I’ve got plenty, we cooperate daily, but to highlight a more unique experience, I was recognized for my B2B experience and consulted about this in another department’s project, allowing me to work with members I rarely get to interact with, except for the breaks. I like this because it shows the company’s flexible side and how it respects my abilities despite titles and time in the company.

When you think of ZenGroup, what word comes to mind?

“We Are ZenGroup!” Ehehe, I know it’s not a word, but it’s such an iconic phrase. It was part of a recruiting video around when I joined the company and has lived rent free in my head ever since.

What do you think is the appeal of ZenGroup?

Can I say “all of the above”? No? Oh well, in short; ZenGroup is an oasis for those with ambition to grow and improve their abilities in a variety of fields. Come as you are and let’s become better together in a fun, sustainable way!

Are there any unique benefits, growth opportunities, or work-life balance initiatives at ZenGroup that you find attractive?

I like the cross department collaborations and the semi-flex solutions for breaks and work hours. I also enjoy the low bar for suggesting ideas and how approachable management is.
