1.What does a decade mean for a company?

Especially in Japan, a country with over 33,000 companies having a century or more of history, and in Osaka, the birthplace of Konaka Group, the world’s oldest company with nearly 15 centuries of history, so what significance does our 10 years hold?

For myself, now at the age of 40, looking back, 10 years were spent in school, another 10 in university, and the most recent 10 devoted to this business. In that sense, for me, a decade represents the longest period of dedication and effort towards something.

Therefore, perhaps it’s time for me to quit being a CEO here and try something else for the next 10 years. Maybe I should look into trying my luck with comedy…

Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. I intend to remain your CEO. Because being a CEO comes with perks that comedians don’t have. …That is, there’s always an audience ready to laugh at your jokes. Even if they’re laughing out of obligation.
