ZenGroup is made up of employees from over 30 different nationalities, so you can imagine how lively and enjoyable social interactions in the office can be! One question we often receive from those outside the company is:“Are there opportunities for employees to socialize?”
To help answer that, we’d like to introduce some of the internal events we offer.

QUESTION:

What kind of internal events does ZenGroup hold?

ANSWER:

From casual drinking parties and sports events to Japanese cultural outings and company trips, we organize a wide variety of events!

Past activities include active events like bowling and ice skating, as well as unique cultural experiences such as Bunraku (traditional puppet theater) and museum visits. Of course, participation is completely optional.

These events provide great opportunities to connect with colleagues who share similar interests, regardless of department, and many employees even become close friends outside of work.

“Events are great for work, too!”

Since joining, I’ve been regularly participating in everything from drinking parties to outdoor activities. Every event has a friendly atmosphere, and it’s a great way to get to know team members I don’t usually work with. Seeing more familiar faces around the office has made it a more comfortable place, and it even makes work feel more enjoyable!

I never miss a company trip! Staying overnight at great hotels really helps deepen our bonds, and I always have an amazing time. ZenGroup trips have taken me to interesting places around Japan, and I’ve had the chance to try incredible food. You also get to see a more personal side of your colleagues, since we usually focus on work in the office. I’m already excited for the next trip!

The Halloween event is awesome!

Personally, I think our Halloween event is the most fun! Some people come to the office in full costume in the morning, while others go all out getting ready right before the party. It’s such an energetic atmosphere—something you don’t often see in typical Japanese companies. Seeing everyone’s costumes makes the day really exciting, and I find myself working with a big smile all day!

Creating a fun atmosphere in our warehouses

Because of the distance, we also organize events tailored for our warehouse teams, such as cherry blossom viewing in April and Halloween events in October. During Hanami, cherry blossom videos are streamed in the break area, and employees can enjoy pizza and sushi together. We also prepare quizzes and bingo games to make the event more fun.

Around Halloween, employees at the Higashi-Osaka warehouse dress up in costumes for several days, and the Kusune center even holds a best costume contest. It’s always great to see the creativity people bring to their outfits! Our drinking parties are also a great chance to connect with colleagues after work.

It feels like a field trip!

Events outside the office, like trips to bowling alleys or art museums, have been really enjoyable. I’ve tried things I normally wouldn’t do on my own thanks to these events. It feels like a field trip for adults, and it’s a wonderful way to share new experiences and create memories together.
