“From Electronics to Cross-Border EC Logistics! Challenging a Fast-Growing Environment by Leveraging Global SCM Experience”
— What were you doing before joining ZenGroup? Also, why did you decide to apply to ZenGroup?
Before joining the company, I worked at an electronics manufacturer, where I was in charge of overseas sales, marketing, and global supply chain management (SCM).
I decided to apply to ZenGroup because it is a fast-growing company with a strong “global flavor,” and I felt I could leverage my past experience—specifically, building direct-to-customer shipping systems in collaboration with global integrators like UPS and FedEx.
“Maximizing Team Coordination for Peak Performance! Proudly Connecting with Customers Worldwide and Direct Delivery of Joy”
— Can you tell us about your specific duties in your department and what you find rewarding?
My job is to manage our operations so that all members work in coordination to achieve maximum efficiency. This includes the receiving team, which inspects and verifies items arriving at the logistics center; the packing team, which wraps items in cushioning materials and cardboard boxes to prevent damage; and the shipping team, which attaches shipping labels and invoices to the packed parcels to dispatch them.
I find great reward in being connected with customers overseas and hearing their feedback directly. It makes me incredibly happy and proud to hear that their items arrived safely and that they are pleased. In addition, my greatest joy comes from walking around the center and seeing our part-time staff working brightly and enthusiastically, with no delays in receiving or packaging.
"A United Front in Times of Need! Challenging Operational Improvements with In-House IT Systems in a Lively Warehouse"
— What is the team atmosphere like? Do you have any stories of cooperating with colleagues?
The work environment has a well-established IT infrastructure, allowing us to work with high autonomy and freedom. Since our internal logistics systems are developed in-house, any issues or requests for updates are quickly improved and resolved.
Personally, I am the type who works steadily and diligently at my own pace. In the warehouse, we are fully empowered and trusted, which allows us to constantly challenge ourselves to implement new initiatives and operational improvements that break away from conventional methods. The logistics center is filled with background music from an FM radio station, and while we have many part-time and temporary staff, the atmosphere is very friendly and open, allowing us to casually chat and even share jokes while walking through the floor.
In terms of team cooperation, when a massive volume of items arrives, the packing team members voluntarily step in to help with receiving, and vice versa when we have a huge packaging backlog. A particularly memorable event was when we experienced a massive delay in packing; our members proactively set up a rotating night shift (from 6 PM to 9 PM) to cover for one another, working as a united team to successfully restore normal operations in a very short period.
“'Delivering Japan to the World'! Fostering Continuous Growth alongside Open-Minded Executive Leadership”
— How would you describe the company in one word? Also, what do you find appealing about ZenGroup?
If I were to describe the company in one word, it would be “A global gateway delivering 'Japan to the World'.” The presence of multinational staff working together and providing multilingual support is a unique strength unmatched by any other company.
What appeals to me most is the dynamic nature of ZenGroup, which is constantly growing and diversifying as the cross-border e-commerce market expands. I also appreciate that the company genuinely listens to feedback from the floor and strives for continuous progress and improvement from a global perspective.
Above all, I find it incredibly appealing that our executive leaders maintain a high-level vision while deeply valuing employee satisfaction, always keeping an open ear and responding to our needs with flexible and supportive decisions.
“Supporting Balanced Living with High Paid Leave Usage and 10 Half-Days! Building Connections through Vibrant Corporate Events”
— Please tell us about the ease of working, unique benefits, and growth opportunities.
The strong promotion of taking paid leave is highly appealing. As long as we coordinate tasks with our team members, we can take time off freely whenever we want. Additionally, we are given up to 10 half-day leave slots per year. This is extremely helpful for running quick errands like visiting government offices or hospitals, as we don't have to use up a full day of paid leave, which significantly supports a healthy work-life balance.
Another major appeal is the abundance of company-hosted events. Since I am usually based at the logistics center, I don't often interact with colleagues from the headquarters or other departments. These events provide wonderful opportunities to casually connect and socialize with diverse, multinational members from across the company, which I always look forward to.
“Highly Recommended for Anyone Passionate about Our Mission and Welcoming Global Culture”
— Closing Message (Recommendation to Friends)
For anyone who feels excited about the mission of delivering Japan's wonderful products to the world and shares our open, respectful, and global corporate culture, ZenGroup is undoubtedly a workplace where you can enjoy and find genuine meaning in your work every single day.
